A. $80 / hr charged on an individual session basis.
Q. Do you do home visits?
A. No. All lessons are conducted in our North Fitzroy studio
Q. How long and how frequent are your lessons?
A. Lessons are usually of 45 minutes duration.
Q. How frequent do the lessons need to be?
A. The more frequently the child is able to attend, the faster their progress will be, but at least twice a week with daily parental home follow-up is a good starting point. However, attendance is negotiated with each family.
Q. When are appointments available?
A. Appointments are available before and after school, evenings, weekends and during school holidays. I understand that the family juggle can be difficult and offer as much flexibility as practicable.
Q. Do I have to attend the lessons with my child?
A. Yes. Please see “The Parent’s Role”.
Q. Can I bring my other children?
A. Not on a regular basis unless they are able to be completely quiet and self-sufficient. Both the child having the lesson and the parent in attendance, need to be concentrating fully, without distractions.
Q. How many lessons will my child need?
A. This depends entirely on the child’s rate of progress and at what point you wish them to discontinue.
Q. Do you have a minimum number of lessons you expect us to commit to?
A. No.
Q. Will you liaise with my child’s school teacher?
A. If the teacher is agreeable, I think it can be very helpful to do so.
