My son was a nervous, slow to start reader who lacked confidence. Grasping the basics of reading seemed to elude him and I didn’t know how to help him.
Heather has invested so much time and energy into helping not only my son but also myself, I have learnt so many strategies to help him. Every lesson that I have attended I have left with a new pearl of reading wisdom.
My son is now an enthusiastic reader - he is keen to read books, signs, posters, anything! He understands the importance and difference between reading and being able to understand what he has read. He has developed a genuine love of reading and books. I am so proud of not only his reading, but his ability to retell a story and to recognize a common theme in different texts. None of this would have been possible without Heather’s enthusiasm, energy and passion for teaching. I can’t thank Heather enough for all the help she has given my son.
